Erin Campbell

Deputy Commissioner for Enterprise Employee Resources

Erin Campbell was appointed Deputy Commissioner for Enterprise Employee Resources in July 2022. This appointment follows Erin’s long tenure with the State of Minnesota. Prior to joining MMB, Erin served as the Assistant Commissioner for Facilities and Enterprise Services at the Department of Administration, leading the facilities management division, fleet and surplus services, real estate and construction, enterprise real property, and the Office of Enterprise Sustainability (OES). Appointed to this role in 2015, Erin provided leadership and project management on major initiatives, including oversight for the restoration of the Minnesota State Capitol, planning and execution of the Capitol Grand Opening, and driving the advancement of sustainability in state government operations through the creation of the Office of Enterprise Sustainability.

Erin’s abilities as a strategic leader, her drive towards results, and her change management skills have resulted in several redeployments. In May 2020 she stepped in to lead the Minnesota Department of Health’s Long Term Care Battle Plan, working to keep COVID-19 out of long-term care facilities. She has also served as a Senior Advisor to Governor Tim Walz during the spring of 2021, advising on legislative affairs, as well as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for State and Cabinet Affairs for the Governor’s office in the Summer of 2021. As COO, Erin gained crucial experience working with MMB on labor relations and contract negotiations, workforce planning, and enterprise human resources policy making.

Erin previously served as the deputy chief of staff for legislative and policy affairs for Governor Mark Dayton, providing strategic guidance and advice on all legislative and policy matters before the state legislature and throughout state agencies. Prior to joining the Department of Administration, Erin worked for two years as a lobbyist with the Messerli & Kramer Government Relations Group, and from 2011-2013, Erin served as senior policy advisor to Governor Dayton. Erin also spent six years working for the Minnesota Senate.

Erin is First Lady Gwen Walz’s representative on the Governor’s Residence Council.
