What you need to know and do if your primary care clinic will be outside the Minnesota Advantage Health Plan service area
The Clinic Directory lists Primary Care Clinics (PCCs) in the Advantage Plan service area. The Advantage Plan service area is all of Minnesota and bordering counties in Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
PCCs outside this service area that are in your health plan administrator’s national network will be covered according to the Out-of-Area benefit schedule. There is no coverage if the clinic is not in your health plan administrator’s national network. You will be responsible for the entire medical bill.
The Out-of-Area benefit schedule shows how care you get is covered if the clinic is outside Minnesota and the counties bordering the state. The document outlines coverage for people with the traditional Minnesota Advantage Health Plan and the High Deductible Health Plan.
