Approve Enrollment in Learning Management

Managers, Supervisors and Training Coordinators

When an employee enrolls in a course that requires manager approval, Learning Management automatically routes that approval request to the employee’s manager/supervisor. Learning Management takes all of its data from SEMA4 and will identify the manager/supervisor as the person named in the “Reports to” field of that database. The manager or supervisor is primarily responsible for approving their employee's request for training. Our short online course is available to Managers/Supervisors providing instruction on how to approve training for an employee in Learning Management. Additionally, a Quick Reference Guide (QRG) is available to aid you in the approval process.

There are instances where a Training Coordinator will need to take action on behalf of the enrolled employee or manager to ensure that their request is approved or denied in a timely fashion. Additionally, there are cases in SEMA4 where the "Reports to" field is blank.  It is then your responsibility, as a training coordinator, to take action on behalf of the enrolled employee to ensure that their request is approved or denied. Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) are provided to aid you in approving an employee who falls under either of the above instances.
