SWIFT Update October 14, 2021

Data Warehouse Security change to the HCM--Payroll--Salary Projects Subject Area

From Statewide Payroll Services:

A bulletin regarding Data Warehouse Security Change to the HCM--Payroll--Salary Projections Subject Area has been posted in Current Payroll Bulletins on the MMB website.  Please refer to the bulletin for additional information on a security change implemented this past weekend.

Contract/PO Issue Resolved

A fix was implemented to correct the Contract/PO issue that was incorrectly calculating contract release amounts since March. Users were receiving a false error like the one listed below even if there were enough funds available on the contract.

Contract Error Message

Going forward there should be no need to overstate the contract to get the PO to go through without the error. Please contact the SWIFT Help Desk if you continue to encounter any problems.

Staff Spotlight: Alex Larson

Alex Larson is a team lead on the SWIFT module support team.

How long have you been with Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB)?
I have been with MMB and the SWIFT Module Support unit since April 2016. I have been with the state since 2010, and prior to MMB I worked at Perpich and the Department of Commerce in accounting roles.

What's your favorite part of your job?
Every day brings different challenges and a chance to learn something new. My favorite part of the job is that our team has so many opportunities to make things better for SWIFT users, and really enjoy the satisfaction that comes with solving a difficult problem or helping to make an agency more efficient when using SWIFT.

Fun Fact:
I am a (fledgling) guitarist and (reluctant) vocalist and am part of a local band with a couple of friends. There are brief moments when we even sound good! My favorite things at the moment are Wilco, Stardew Valley, KEXP Seattle, and the 60/40 burger at Red Cow. My wife and I have a wonderfully funny and loving daughter, Ellie, and reside in scenic Richfield, Minnesota.
