National Medical Support Notice (Qualified Medical Support Order)
When SEGIP receives a National Medical Support Notice (Qualified Medical Support Order, QMO), SEGIP may make changes to your medical and dental dependent coverage.
If the child covered by the order is not enrolled in the necessary medical and/or dental plans that the order requires, and you are benefit eligible with the premiums not exceeding the order’s limitations of withholding, SEGIP will enroll the child in the medical and/or dental plans as ordered by the notice.
If SEGIP receives a notice of cancellation of a National Medical Support Notice/QMO, SEGIP will remove the rider that prevents disenrollment, however, you have to wait to disenroll the child until the next Open Enrollment, or upon a qualifying life event.
If SEGIP enrolls a child, you will be required to verify the newly enrolled child by submitting a copy of the child’s certified birth certificate listing you as the parent.
