Significant Cost Change in another Employer plan

When there is a significant cost change in another employer plan, you can make certain corresponding changes to your insurance benefits. SEGIP determines when a cost change is significant.

Most significant cost changes are associated with an open enrollment. When another employer plan has an open enrollment with an effective date:
  • Other than January 1: SEGIP’s life event rules will apply and you can make changes outside of SEGIP’s Open Enrollment period
  • On January 1: you must make your elections within SEGIP’s Open Enrollment period
