SWIFT Update February 6, 2025

Logged Out of SWIFT

For security purposes, SWIFT automatically logs users out of the system after 20 minutes of inactivity. SWIFT displays a warning message a couple of minutes prior to logging you out. If you are still working in SWIFT, select the OK button to continue your session.

Inactivity warning message with the OK button highlighted

Some users frequently have multiple SWIFT pages open at the same time. Please, be aware that inactivity is measured on all open pages. You can be interacting with SWIFT on one open page, and the inactivity on another page can still boot you out of the system. Therefore, remember to close additional SWIFT pages after use.

If logged out of SWIFT due to inactivity, it is best practice to clear your browsing history and cache before starting a new session. Refer to the Clear Browsing History and Cache Quick Reference Guide for instructions.

SWIFT Hot Topic: Request Security Roles

The Help Desk Hot Topics feature Frequently Asked Questions answered by the SWIFT Help Desk. Use these as a friendly reminder of a process or as an opportunity to learn something new.

A. What is the process for requesting new or additional security roles in SWIFT?

Q. Agency security administrators are responsible for initiating changes to security roles for employees. To request new security roles in SWIFT, fill out the required forms on the Security Access Forms webpage. Once these forms are completed, send them to your agency's security administrator. If you're not sure what forms to fill out or do not know who your security administrator is, please contact the SWIFT Help Desk for guidance.
