Yes. MAD charges by the hour or by the project, depending on the circumstances. Our rate is $185 an hour, approved by Minnesota Management and Budget. Each contract includes a negotiated work plan with a total maximum cost.
No. If costs exceed the total of the contract amount, you will not be billed for excess hours unless a contract amendment is negotiated and signed. If the scope of the project expands after the work is begun, we would negotiate an amendment to cover the anticipated additional hours and/or to extend the end date of the contract.
If your organization is a part of the state government system, the contract will be an interagency agreement—no RFP, no competitive bidding. We've worked with many units of government outside the state system to simplify contract issues. We will meet with you and discuss your needs in full before writing a proposal. There is no charge for this pre-contract consultation.
