Stacy Sjogren joined MAD in 2017 after 18 years of independent consulting and 10 years of higher education administration. Stacy most enjoys helping groups of all kinds be efficient and productive all while having fun working together.
Consulting focus
Stacy’s consulting expertise is in group facilitation work, board governance, and project management. In her work, she’s used facilitation and training skills for strategic planning, stakeholder engagement initiatives, and task force initiatives; strengthened board governance processes, governing policy frameworks, accountability systems, and board-staff relationships; and provided project coordination for initiatives and collaboratives.
Client and project highlights
During Stacy's tenure at MAD, her project work has included the following:
- Training and coaching governing boards for maximum governing effectiveness in settings including cities, school districts, and statutorily established entities such as the Clemency Review Commission, Metropolitan Library Service Agency, Minnesota Board of Public Defense, Minnesota Council on Disability, and Minnesota Board of Nursing.
- Supporting the productivity of advisory boards and work groups such as the Governor’s Council on Opioids, Substance Use, and Addiction, the Opioid Epidemic Emergency Response Advisory Council, and APS Partnership Work Group.
- Guiding task forces in the fulfillment of their unique charges and report development. Some examples include Minnesota Task Force on Shelter, Alzheimer’s Disease Work Group, and the Psychedelic Medicine Task Force.
- Assisting agency staff with the coordination of large projects or those requiring unique facilitation skills or strategic planning assistance. Project examples include the Vulnerable Adult Act redesign, a comprehensive review of Minnesota’s sentencing guidelines, MDH Private Wells Forum, DNR’s Parks and Trails Legacy Celebration, State Fire Marshall strategic planning, and the Civil Unrest Response Guide.
Educational background
Stacy has a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from St. Cloud State University. She also has certificates from Policy Governance Academy and Prosci Change Management and has completed Project Management Professional certification preparation classwork from PMI MN.
