Prevent Suicide: Look out for each other
We spend most of our awake time at work, which is why it’s important that we look out for each other. Contact one of the services below if you’re concerned for the safety of a colleague, family member, friend, or yourself.
- 911. If you or someone around you is at immediate risk of suicide, contact 911.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP). If you’re worried about someone’s safety, you can contact WorkLife EAP. EAP can help identify a strategy to help regardless of the individual’s relationship to you or to their eligibility for state benefits. The phone number and password are in Self Service Announcements.
- Community resources. Resources for people at risk of suicide and for those who care about them:

Be there for each other
We each play an important role in the health and safety of those around us, and not just during crises. The number one barrier to people seeking treatment for their mental health is the stigma associated with it. The best way to break down this barrier is to talk about it. Ask someone how they’re feeling, tell them you’re concerned, ask if they need help, and listen to how you can be there for them. And remember to ask for help yourself when you need it.
