Death of Employee
If you are a family member of a state employee who has recently passed away, please contact the employee’s human resources office or the employee’s supervisor immediately for information about what steps need to be taken and when. The human resources office will take care of contacting SEGIP.
Changes will be made to insurance benefits. These will happen automatically once SEGIP has been notified by the human resources office. The employee's coverages will end and COBRA coverage will be offered to any surviving spouse, former spouse, and dependent children enrolled in coverage.
