A budget year identifies the period that money is legally authorized for spending by the State legislature. The State of Minnesota's Budget Year starts on July 1st and ends on June 30th of the next year. For example, the Budget Fiscal Year 2023 begins on July 1, 2022 and ends on June 30, 2023. Some funds may be available for spending after a Budget Year has ended.

Payments from Agency Sub-Systems. Some agencies do not enter payment information directly in SWIFT. They submit payments to SWIFT through an interface file from their sub-systems. SWIFT does not contain enough information to determine if the payee data is private or public.
