The Appropriation Maintenance Application (AMA) is a web-based system to collect and approve appropriation budgets from state agencies for upload to the state accounting system SWIFT, and the state budget system BPAS. Launched in April 2017, AMA automated a paper form submission, enhancing the accuracy and transparency of the appropriation budget process.
AMA is a secure system accessed through the State Administrative Portal. Unlike the other three statewide budget systems, AMA’s security is tied to the state accounting system SWIFT. State agency staff who have SWIFT access to enter Commitment Control budget journals will be able to enter appropriation requests in AMA. Only agency staff who can approve budget journals in SWIFT to the KK_APPROP ledger group will be able to approve AMA transactions.
AMA is compatible with Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox web browsers.
