For Immediate Release: Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner Frans Statement on Senate and House Approval of Employee Contracts and Plans

ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner Myron Frans released the following statement after both the Minnesota Senate and House voted to approve contracts and plans for state employees:

“Today, both bodies of the Minnesota Legislature approved contracts and employee plans for state workers. My note to the Senate and House: Thank you for supporting our talented and hard-working state workers and supporting the work they do that is vitally important to our great state. I want to acknowledge the dedication that my colleagues bring to their jobs. I am honored to work with people who so thoroughly believe in the importance of public service. Every day their work has an impact on the lives of Minnesotans throughout the state. I am grateful to the Senate and House for taking this important step to provide fair contracts to our workers.”

The following contracts and employee plans were included in the Senate and House's approval:

  • American Federation of State, County, & Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
  • AFSCME, Unit 8 (Corrections)
  • AFSCME, unit 225 (Radio Communication Operators)
  • Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE)
  • Minnesota Government Engineer's Council (MGEC)
  • Middle Management Association (MMA)
  • State Residential Schools Education Association (SRSEA)
  • Commissioner’s Plan, including Medical Specialist Addendum
  • Managerial Plan
  • Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA)
  • MNsure Managerial Plan
  • Office of Higher Education Unclassified Personnel Compensation Plan
  • Minnesota State Personnel Plan for Administrators
  • Inter Faculty Organization

The contracts and employee plans will now go to the Governor for him to sign.
