Your Voice Matters. Engagement and Inclusion Survey.

Earlier in 2025, Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) coordinated the biennial engagement survey of executive branch employees to help support a world-class workforce and respectful workplace. The survey results guide us in the recruiting, development, and retention of our greatest asset – our employees.

Organization-wide engagement surveys are a best practice among top employers and help us understand what employees currently think about their work environment. MMB uses these survey results to develop enterprise-wide programming. Agencies receive agency-level results to use in developing agency-level efforts.

Timing

The survey was open from Monday, Jan. 27 through Friday, Mar. 7.

Next Steps

Enterprise survey results were shared in September 2025. MMB will use the survey results to develop an enterprise action plan. See a summary of employee responses here.

Agencies also receive a report summarizing their agency data, as well as a copy of their survey data without respondent names or identifying information. Agencies will be developing a two-year action plan to address the results and feedback from their survey results.

Privacy

The Management Analysis and Development (MAD) team administers the survey. Only MAD will know whether you took the survey and how you answered. Your agency will not know who took the survey or who provided which answers. Information that could reasonably be used to identify an individual from their response is considered private data under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (Minnesota Statutes § 13.64), meaning MAD will not share it with others except as provided by law. MAD will give agencies a copy of survey data that has no respondent names or other identifying information to make sure no one can identify you by your answers.
