The dashboard provides a snapshot into Minnesota’s investments to mitigate the harm of the opioid epidemic. The intent is to provide transparency on spending and assist the Opioid Epidemic Response Advisory Committee (OERAC), local governments, and other policymakers identify needs across our state.
The dashboard contains multiple sources of funding, including 1) Opioid Epidemic Response fees, 2) statewide opioid epidemic settlement agreement funding, and 3) appropriations directed by the state to tribal nations and other organizations. This tool also highlights the extent to which these funds were spent on evidence-based practices (EBPs), which have been found to be effective by at least one rigorous impact evaluation. Other practices may also be effective, but they have not yet been studied with this type of statutorily-defined evaluation.
