Minnesota showcased its life sciences ecosystem at the BIO tradeshow in San Diego, California, June 22 through 25, where more than 20,000 members of the global biotech community gathered. With over 1,500 exhibitors, the Minnesota Pavilion showcased the state's start-ups, emerging companies and long-term investors. Pavilion participants included the City of Brooklyn Park, Destination Medical Center/Mayo Clinic, GreaterMSP, Lifecore Biomedical, Microbiologics, Nu-Tek BioSciences, ProNaya Healthcare Solutions and Weimer Analytics.

Partners at the pavilion promoted Minnesota's ecosystem and medical alley, with Governor Walz echoing and strengthening this message during his visit to BIO. In addition to meeting with Minnesota companies exhibiting at BIO, Governor Walz visited the pavilions of key global partners, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, to reinforce Minnesota's international collaborations.

On Tuesday evening, Governor Walz hosted a reception for more than 130 guests to connect with industry experts, company decision-makers, and government representatives around the biotech ecosystem of Minnesota.

The state's presence at BIO highlighted Minnesota's leadership in the life sciences and its dedication to expanding high-quality jobs, driving research and supporting business growth. The connections gained during the trade fair tie to Minnesota's economic development priorities both now and going forward.
