DEED Annual Advertising Transparency Statement for FY25
In accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 15.442, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) publishes the following summary of its advertising expenditures.
During fiscal year 2025, DEED's total advertising spending was $1,693,146.57. Of this amount, $544,533.90 was Minnesota-specific advertising.
Advertising that DEED placed with local news organizations—defined in statute as local newspapers, radio and television—totaled $26,894.12, representing approximately 4.9 percent of Minnesota-specific advertising spending. This includes:
Local television: $0 (0%)
Local newspapers: $13,033.50 (48.5%)
Local radio: $13,860.62 (51.5%)
DEED's remaining advertising expenditures supported other communication channels, payment to other state agencies to advertise public hearing notices, out-of-state advertising, signage, and promotional and outreach materials.
