Required posters and notices
Starting in January 2026, Paid Leave will ensure Minnesotans can take the time they need to be there for some of life's most important moments — like welcoming a child, recovering from a serious illness, or caring for a loved one. As an employer, you play a key role in helping your employees learn about and access the program.
You are required to inform your workers about Paid Leave by December 1, 2025.
You must both display a Paid Leave poster and inform employees individually. On this page, you will find the documents you need to meet these notice requirements.
You can order copies of the workplace poster online from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) at no cost. Visit the DLI website to learn more.

You are required to display this poster in a location where employees can easily see it.
The poster must be displayed in English and any language spoken by five or more employees or independent contractors. Posters will be available in more languages soon.
Sample employee notice
You must notify employees about Paid Leave directly in their primary language, and employees must acknowledge that they have received the information. This can be done by signing a form, acknowledging receipt electronically (for example, in your payroll system), or in another way you decide.
Follow the instructions included in the document. Sample notifications will be available in other languages soon.
