Who We Serve

We welcome New Americans who are Blind, Low Vision, DeafBlind, or have other vision‑related disabilities. Whether you are new to the U.S. workforce or looking to re‑enter employment, our program is designed to support you as you build a sustainable career.

How We Help

Our team connects you with potential employers and arranges work‑based learning experiences such as:

  • Informational interviews
  • Workplace tours
  • Job shadowing
  • Mentorship
  • Paid work experiences

We also offer services that support your job-search skills such as:

  • Language and digital‑literacy training
  • Guidance on accommodations and self-advocacy at work
  • Help and training with assistive technology

Through partnerships with vocational rehabilitation agencies and community organizations, we tailor support to your individual goals and help you navigate applications for housing or emergency assistance when needed.

Overcoming Barriers Together

New Americans with vision loss often face cultural and linguistic barriers, unfamiliar employment systems, transportation challenges, and a lack of accessible workplace technologies. We work to bridge these gaps by offering bilingual support, educating employers on inclusive practices, coordinating interpreters and accessible technology, and advocating for fair wages and integrated employment. By addressing these challenges head‑on, we help you overcome obstacles and move toward a fulfilling career path.

What is Progressive Employment?

Progressive employment offers an opportunity to discover your potential. This approach pairs you with inclusive employers for work‑based learning experiences like tours, job shadowing, informational interviews (and more!), helping you explore different career pathways.

As a New American navigating vision loss, we understand the cultural, language, and accessibility challenges you may face, and we're here to support you so you can unleash your career goals.
