Direct Investment Venture Capital Program

Minnesota's State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) programs include the Direct Investment Venture Capital program. The program invests in Minnesota-based seed and early-stage startups. This program expects to target key sectors such as advanced manufacturing, agtech/foodtech, climate tech, life sciences, software, and technology.

Overview

The Direct Investment Venture Capital Program is managed by the University of Minnesota Office of Investments & Banking (OIB). DEED is not responsible for any investment decisions. Additional information and application to the program is available through OIB.

SSBCI programs must meet certain criteria and compliance standards. Information on various SSBCI compliance issues can be found in the tabs below. All SSBCI programs and transactions require the Investee to submit specific certifications. Applicants should submit signed certifications to OIB when directed. OIB will provide the Investee with all certification forms.
