Trade Adjustment Assistance
The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program is available to workers who lose their jobs, hours or income as a result of increased foreign trade activity. The TAA is funded by of the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration (ETA). We administer the program.
If you believe you lost your job -- or had your work hours or wages reduced -- due to federal trade activity you could be eligible for federal assistance.
Workers may be eligible for training services, job search allowances, relocation allowances and reemployment services, including some or all of the following:
- Reemployment services
- Job Search allowances
- Relocation allowances
- Funded training
- Weekly Trade Readjustment Allowances for eligible workers who have exhausted their Unemployment Compensation benefits, and are in training
- Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance/Reemployed Trade Adjustment Assistance
- On-the-job training
