The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program helps workers who have lost their jobs or had work hours or wages reduced as a result of foreign trade activity.
The company that laid you off - or is expecting to lay you off in the near future - has been certified to participate. That means you are eligible to apply. Here's what you do next:

Your company's petition number
The certification date
The expiration date
The impact date
Use this information to complete the "Petition Information" section of the TAA Application. If you cannot find your company listed, please, contact the TAA Office at 651-259-7543.
For petitions numbered lower than 69,999 and in between 80,000 and 80,999: If you will not begin your training within 8 weeks of your petition's certification date or 16 weeks after your layoff date (whichever is later), you and your Dislocated Worker Program counselor must sign the waiver form and date it before the deadline.
For petitions numbered 70,000 to 79,999 and above 81,000: If you will not begin your training within 26 weeks of either your layoff date or your petition’s certification date (whichever is later), you and your Dislocated Worker Program counselor must sign the waiver form and date it before the deadline.
TAA Work Search Application (Note: Work Search is not allowed for petitions numbered higher than 81,000)
Submitting the Application
Your Dislocated Worker Program counselor must give final approval before you submit your TAA Application. Be sure to discuss the submission process with your counselor.

Complete the RTAA Application. You must get your Dislocated Worker program counselor to sign off on the application before you submit it.
Transportation Subsistence Form
TAA Transportation and Subsistence Allowance is available to customers in approved TAA training and who are traveling 50 miles or more one way to their training institution. Pre-approval is required.
