Charge
This committee provides specific advice and counsel regarding services to transition-age youth (ages 14 – 21). This committee will provide input to the Customer Satisfaction, Goals, and Priorities Committee and the full Council for consideration in the development of annual goals and priorities in conjunction with SSB and will monitor those goals and priorities throughout the year.
The product of this committee is a report to the full Council with specific strategies for providing services to blind, DeafBlind, and low vision transition-age youth.
Membership
With the approval of the SRC-B, the Council chairperson shall appoint members and a chairperson for this committee. This committee shall consist of no more than nine persons. Every effort shall be made, to the extent possible, to include at least one person representing each of the following:
- Two Council members who represent:
- the Department of Education, if serving,
- and PACER, Inc., if serving
- Transition age (14-21) student
- Parents of blind or low vision children
- Active Teachers of the blind/low vision
