This year, many Minnesota-owned and -operated businesses have faced unprecedented challenges. It's now more important than ever for Minnesotans to show up and support these businesses that make our communities thrive.

Choose MN serves as a reminder that everyday decisions—like where to shop, dine, receive services or do business—have meaningful impacts on local economies. DEED and its partners encourage residents, organizations and businesses to take part in supporting Minnesota's small businesses year-round. 

Here are some ways you can get involved:

1. Search out local Minnesota-owned businesses
   Check your local Chambers of Commerce for directories to help you find independent and locally-owned stores, specialty shops, services, and manufacturers.
2. Tell others about your favorite Minnesota stores and products
   Tag and post about your favorite local shops or products on social media, or recommend local businesses to friends and family.
3. Eat local
   Dine at neighborhood restaurants, cafes and bakeries. Don't forget to try local food trucks, and check farmers' markets and pop-up events.
4. Celebrate local culture and creativity
   Attend live music shows, art classes, or theater offerings hosted by local artists and venues.
