Workforce One (WF1)

Workforce One (WF1), found at www.mnworkforceone.com, is a web-based client management application used by nearly 2,000 state, city, county, and non-profit employment and training providers to track employment and training services to more than 100,000 customers across Minnesota's One Stop network. WF1 was created through a partnership between the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and is maintained by MN.IT@DEED.

It is used by the following programs: Adult, Adult Career Pathways, Dislocated Worker, Displaced Homemaker, Diversionary Work Program, Heading Home, Minnesota Family Investment Program, Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker, State Services for the Blind (Senior Services and Workforce Development), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Trade Adjustment Assistance, Veterans, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Youth, and many small, locally-operated employment and training grants.

Getting Help with WF1

If you have an issue with how something is working in WF1, cannot do the functions in WF1 you need to do for your job, have a data correction that cannot be addressed by someone at your agency, or have a WF1 question, please submit a Service Desk Ticket.

If you have a suggestion for how WF1 could be improved, please submit a Change Request Form (Instructions). Changes must be approved by funders.

WF1 Forms

Access Form

Staff who need access to WF1 need to complete the Access Form available within WF1. New users should select the Form link on the homepage. Existing users should log in and go to Forms under Resources on the top menu. This form can be used for staff who need access to manage cases in WF1 or those users who need to manage user accounts in WF1 (known as security administrators).

COFFR, Agency, and Agency Location Additions

When a new service provider needs to be added to WF1, the DEED or DHS program administrator requesting this should do the following:

  • For a Contract or Federal Funding Recipient Addition or Update: COFFRs are the entity that is granting the funding to provide the services for the program. Sometimes this is the same as the agency providing the services. When an agency is subcontracting, the COFFR is different from the agency. There is a search in WF1 that allows any user to review the COFFRs that currently exist within WF1. If you are a user, please perform this search before submitting a request to add or update a COFFR. To request the addition of a COFFR or changes to an existing COFFR such as the association of a new agency or program, submit a Service Desk Ticket.
  • For an Agency or Agency Location Addition or Update: Agencies are the service providers for the programs in WF1. When DEED or DHS contracts with a new service provider that doesn’t use WF1, that agency will need to be added to WF1. In other cases, a provider that already has access to WF1 will get a new COFFR or program. There is a search in WF1 that allows any user to review the agencies and locations that currently exist within WF1. If you are a user, please perform this search before submitting a request to add or update an agency or agency location. The Agency and Location Addition form is found under the Forms menu which is a link at the bottom of the login page for those individuals who don’t have access to WF1 and is under the Resources menu item and Forms for WF1 users.
