Extended Employment Program

If you are an employee with a disability and at least three functional limitations (as defined by rule 3300.6000 subpart 17), you may be able to get long-term support services via the Extended Employment (EE) program to help you keep your job and advance in your career. These services are offered by providers throughout Minnesota.

Long-term job supports, or “extended services,” help in training or retraining job tasks, adjusting to schedule changes or new supervisors, learning new job tasks or positions. Supports can also help manage life changes that affect work performance.

Refer to the EE rules (chapter 3300.6000-6070) on the Minnesota Legislature's website for details on eligibility and support plans.

EE Subprograms

  • Supported Employment provides supports for employees with disabilities to keep their job in a competitive, integrated setting, for as long as needed.
  • Community Employment provides intensive supports in a job setting where most of the employees are people with disabilities.
