Medical Assistance for Breast or Cervical Cancer (MA-BC)
Medical Assistance for Breast and Cervical Cancer (MA-BC) provides coverage to women enrolled in a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP) who need treatment services. This program covers all costs for medical treatment and all other MA covered services for as long as you might need treatment. The information on this page does not cover all program rules. To find out if you qualify, you must apply.
Who is eligible for coverage?
To be eligible, you must:
- Have been screened through the Minnesota Department of Health Sage Screening Program or the American Indian Cancer Foundation Screen Our Circle Program (PDF)
- Need treatment for breast cancer, cervical cancer or a precancerous cervical condition
- Have no insurance coverage for treatment
- Be under age 65
- Be a Minnesota resident
- Be a U.S. citizen or have a Medicaid qualifying immigration status
When will my MA coverage start?
MA coverage may go back three months before the month we get your application.
When will my MA coverage end?
Your MA coverage will end when your doctor says you no longer need treatment for your cancer.
What will my MA health coverage cost?
There is no cost.
