Welcome to the web page for the Early Education Trainer Approval Process. This page will keep stakeholders informed about the current process for revamping the trainer approval process.
Training for early childhood providers is a valuable part of their professional development. In 2016, the Trainer Type Advisory Group put forth recommendations to the Minnesota Department of Human Services on how to revise the trainer approval process.
Based on these recommendations, new trainer types were created and shared with the field. Since the original convening of the advisory group, the department has continued to hear concerns about the inequity of the current trainer approval process.
To ensure Minnesota has an equitable and transparent trainer approval process, the department is planning to:
- Take ample time to redesign a system and process that is equitable and transparent
- Gather input from a wide range of stakeholders on how best to redesign the system.
The department’s aim is to improve the trainer approval process with an eye toward making the system more equitable and transparent. The department has held a number of stakeholder meetings and asked for feedback on areas to improve.
