MMIS automation process for July 1, 2019

Lead agency (county and tribal nation) staff must refrain from adding or making changes to AC, BI, CAC, CACI, DD, ECS and EW service agreements from June 14 through June 20, 2019, or until DHS gives lead agencies the all-clear message. During this time, DHS will enter rates in MMIS and run the rate increase process on June 19, 2019. 

Staff may enter screening documents during this time. Please read these instructions carefully.

Automation process for select services for AC, ECS and EW programs

Lines that begin before July 1, 2019, and end on or after July 1, 2019, with unused units or total amounts:

For lines that begin on or after July 1, 2019, with unused units or total amounts:

Lines that end on or after July 1, 2019, with no unpaid units remaining or with no units left after the calculation is performed to prorate the units:

Alternative Care, Elderly Waiver and Essential Community Supports budget cap increases

Case-mix caps for AC and EW increase beginning July 1, 2019. The Essential Community Supports budget cap increases beginning July 1, 2019.

AC, BI, CAC, CACI, DD and EW consumer directed community supports (CDCS) - T2028

CDCS budget increase beginning July 1, 2019, are:

  • 2.41 percent for AC and EW
  • 2.37 percent for BI, CAC, CADI and DD

For lines that begin before July 1, 2019, and end on or after July 1, 2019, MMIS will not adjust line items but identify the lines on Infopac reports MW2083A or MW2083B.

Automation process for select personal care assistance (PCA) services for AC, BI, CAC, CADI, DD and EW programs

  • Personal care assistance (PCA) (T1019 and applicable modifiers) 
  • Personal care assistance (PCA) - Complex (T1019 TG and applicable modifiers) 
  • Personal care assistance (PCA) – Extended (T1019 UC and applicable modifiers) 
  • Personal care assistance (PCA) – Complex, Extended (T1019 TG, UC and applicable modifiers) 
  • Personal care assistance (PCA) –Supervision – (T1019 UA) 

Lines that begin before July 1, 2019, and end after July 1, 2019:

For lines that begin on or after July 1, 2019:

Lines that end after June 30, 2019, with no unpaid units remaining or with no units left after the calculation is performed to prorate the units:

Consumer Support Grants (CSG) manual adjustment of service agreement lines

CSG service agreements are part of the MMIS automation process that runs on June 19, 2019. For lines that begin before July 1, 2019, and end after July 1, 2019:

For lines beginning July 1, 2019, or after:

Home care Type B agreements

Lead agencies do not make changes to home care Type B agreements. These agreements do not run through the MMIS automation process. The MMIS rate file is adjusted so the rate change automatically occurs during the billing process.
