Paying for nursing home care
- If you need help paying for nursing home care, you can apply for Medical Assistance.
- If you have Medicare, call Medicare or your Medicare health plan to find out what it will pay for nursing home care.
- If you have long-term care insurance, contact your insurance company for coverage details.

For help with services and supports so you can leave the nursing home:
- If Medical Assistance pays for your nursing home care, call your county or tribal office worker or health plan care coordinator.
- If Medical Assistance does not pay for your care, you can get help through the resource coordination service offered by Minnesota Aging Pathways. Call Minnesota Aging Pathways at 800-333-2433.
