DSD training news and information

DSD provides a variety of training opportunities for counties, tribal nations, managed care organizations (MCOs) and other interested parties. DSD training resources focus mostly on state and federal programs administered by DSD and DHS, but also relate to major DSD initiatives.

Online self-paced courses

Person-centered training
Supervisors, case managers and assessors can use the person-centered support planning resources to support development of person-centered practices. This guidance will help you develop support plans that meet DHS person-centered requirements.

DHS collaborates with the University of Minnesota to provide person-centered training. For more information, refer to:

Webinar archive

Check out our archive of past live webinars. We post webinar recordings within three to five days. We initially post videos with auto captions. Edited captions are available approximately two to five weeks after the session. Handouts are available after a digital accessibility review. Due to copyright, legal and technical issues, some sessions are unavailable.
Additional training resources

Trainlink online learning modules	DSD has several self-paced online learning modules available. New users must request a unique key to access courses.
Personal Care Assistance (PCA) and Community First Services and Supports (CFSS)	Visit PCA and CFSS training and tests.
Vulnerable Adults Mandated Reporting (VAMR)	Visit VAMR online course registration.
DHS HIPAA modules	In July 2014, DHS released the required courses for data practices and security, Handling MN Information Securely. This suite of courses replaces HR551, Protecting Information Privacy, and HR552, Putting Security Into Action. County and tribal nation staff should take the courses from the above link even if they have a TrainLink account with DHS.
