Every child needs financial and emotional support and every child has the right to support from both parents. Minnesota's child support program benefits children by enforcing parental responsibility for their support.
Important notice (updated March 8, 2022):Economic Impact Payments that parents claimed through the Recovery Rebate Credit for 2020 and 2021 are NOT exempt from going towards past-due child support. For more information, please visit the Internal Revenue Service's website about the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit and refer to "Q E3" and the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit and refer to "Q F3".
