ST. PAUL, MINN. (Oct. 6, 2026)—Governor Tim Walz has proclaimed Oct. 6, 2026, Customer Experience Day in Minnesota, recognizing the professionals and organizations that put the people they serve at the center of their work.
“People should be able to get the help they need from government without unnecessary steps or confusion,” said Minnesota IT Services Assistant Commissioner and Chief Transformation Officer Zarina Baber. “By listening to Minnesotans and involving them in how we design services, we can make those services easier to use, more accessible and more responsive to their needs.”
The proclamation highlights the importance of listening to people, understanding their needs and using their feedback to improve services. It honors customer experience professionals and frontline employees across government, businesses, nonprofits, education, health care and community organizations.
Minnesota’s observance aligns with CX Day, the annual global celebration led by the Customer Experience Professionals Association (CXPA). The day recognizes the people and organizations dedicated to creating better customer experiences and highlights how their work improves lives and strengthens communities.
For state government, that commitment means making services easier to find, understand and use. Minnesota IT Services and state agencies exceeded their “40 by 2027” goal ahead of schedule, delivering 88 new or improved digital self-service options that help Minnesotans access government services.
The proclamation also recognizes Minnesota’s investments in modernizing service delivery, including bipartisan legislation establishing a $90 million, three-year IT Modernization Fund to improve efficiency, accuracy and customer experience across state, county and Tribal Nation systems.
MNIT is proud to celebrate the people who improve everyday experiences and strengthen communities through their service.
