WCAG 2.1 & Data Visualization

Data visualization represents data in a visual format, such as charts, graphs, or maps, to help people understand patterns and insights more easily. Many types of software support data visualization, ranging from spreadsheet tools like Microsoft Excel to more advanced platforms such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI.

Organizations increasingly use data visualization as they collect more data and work to understand and communicate trends. Although data visualization relies on visual formats, teams must still ensure the information remains accessible to all users, including people with disabilities.
