Jeff Nyberg is the state of Minnesota’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In his role at Minnesota IT Services (MNIT), he provides leadership for the state’s information technology infrastructure, supporting the delivery of optimally-leveraged services that meet the evolving information technology needs of state agencies, counties, and public higher education institutions.
Jeff has more than 15 years of experience in the technology industry in both the private and public sectors. Before joining Minnesota IT Services, he worked as the Director of Application Development and Support for International Dairy Queen, where he developed a three-year executable strategy to mature work intake and prioritization processes, drive operational maturity, and align solutions to business needs. At Target Corporation, his process-driven focus as a Manager of Application Support Services helped his global team of application engineers and contractors to achieve a 75% reduction for incident recovery times.
His public sector work experience included spearheading initiatives to recruit and hire talented IT professionals, drive innovative approaches to technological solutions, and develop strategic vendor partnerships while serving as the Deputy Director of Application Development and Support at the City of Saint Paul. During his tenure at the City of Saint Paul, Jeff drove the creation of the St. Paul Insights program – a business intelligence program that transformed city government decision-making by empowering city departments to use critical data to shape the way they respond to the requests and needs of the public.
Jeff received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota.
