Kim Roberson

Chief Business Technology Officer (CBTO)

Kim Roberson is the Chief Business Technology Officer (CBTO) for MNIT partnering with Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA), the Department of Labor and Industry (DLI), and the Board of Animal Health (BAH). She oversees IT strategy, planning, and implementation to support each of those agency’s IT portfolio management, architecture and security management, application management, data management, project management, and operations management. 

Kim is a 2018 recipient of MNIT’s Manager of the Year Award and has over 25 years of public and private sector IT experience, and has worked for the State of Minnesota since 2006. Previously, she served as Deputy CBTO for MNIT partnering with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), where she played a key role in IT senior leadership and modernization.

Kim attended St. Cloud State University and Georgetown University with concentrations in technology and politics. She’s a graduate of the Minnesota Senior Leadership Institute. She’s a member of the Minnesota Transparent Artificial Intelligence Alliance (TAIGA). And she’s certified in Agile and ITIL, and leads with empathy, collaboration, and a focus on practical iterative outcomes. Kim comes from a farm family, and the mission of the agencies she supports is close to her heart.
