Raja Viswanathan

Raja brings more than 20 years of experience leading technology teams that deliver reliable, large-scale systems—expertise that aligns directly with the mission of the Human and Social Digital Services (HSDS) Division. Most recently, as Assistant Vice President of Software Engineering at the Federal Reserve Bank, he led multiple teams responsible for nationally critical payment systems processing over $2 trillion daily, including paychecks, mortgage payments, and government transactions. He also oversaw software delivery for the multi-year modernization of the nation’s primary retail electronic payment system. 

Earlier in his career, Raja served as Director of Technology at Paid Inc. and developed digital solutions for Fortune 500 companies and a major human services nonprofit. His leadership, technical depth, and commitment to secure, user-centered design will help advance digital services for Minnesotans.
