Shawn Kammerud

Shawn Kammerud serves as the Chief Business Technology Officer (CBTO) for the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE). He brings more than 20 years of IT leadership experience in both the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on building inclusive teams and aligning technology investments with organizational goals. 

Before joining OHE, Shawn served as a cybersecurity leader and IT Director for MNIT, partnering with the Minnesota Department of Health, where he helped lead critical COVID-19 technology operations and advanced cloud governance, agile management, and disaster recovery efforts. 

He previously served as CIO and CISO at Osceola Medical Center, where he implemented an award-winning Electronic Health Record system and helped the organization earn multiple “Most Wired Hospital” recognitions. 

Shawn holds an M.S. and B.S. in Information Technology/Healthcare Administration from Colorado State University and an A.A.S. in Information Technology from Northwoods Technical College.
