Greater Minnesota Expansion of the MnDOT MaaS Platform

This initiative expands access to reliable, easy-to-use trip planning and booking tools for residents across all Greater Minnesota. By building on prior Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) investments, MnDOT will enable riders to plan trips across every public transit system in Greater Minnesota using a single, consistent experience on mobile apps and the web.

When complete, travelers will be able to discover transit options statewide through MnDOT’s MaaS platform, the Transit app, and MnTransitPlanner.com—removing long-standing gaps in rural and regional trip visibility. This expansion ensures that whether a rider lives in a small community or a regional hub, they can find accurate transit information and confidently plan trips without navigating multiple agency websites or schedules.

For riders who rely on dial-a-ride and demand-response services, the project delivers even greater value by enabling online booking and trip management for additional transit systems. This reduces the need for phone-based reservations, improves convenience and accessibility, and gives riders greater control over their travel.
