Summary: As part of the Minnesota Management and Budget Office’s Organizational Transformation initiative, this project will adopt a product model approach to achieve our desired outcomes regarding the job application process. The primary objective is to provide a vision, strategy, and plan to meet MMB’s main goals, including job applicant satisfaction and transforming the organization into an effective product model.
Additionally, the project will align with our long-term goals of enhancing employee satisfaction and retention, promoting equity, fulfilling critical agency staffing needs, improving staff proficiency, and supporting career advancement.
Currently, many business processes require customization, varying levels of technical and coordination skills, leading to a high workload and significant purchases. These processes lack dedicated, perpetual teams and rely on statewide surveys for customer feedback.
The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) 2030 initiative aims to address these issues by standardizing processes and minimizing customization. It will focus on upskilling teams, transforming capacity, implementing smaller purchases with proofs of concept, and establishing dedicated, perpetual product teams. Additionally, the initiative will develop a comprehensive program of customer engagement points to ensure continuous feedback and improvement.
Value: Complete discovery work to engage with users of the job application experience to clearly define problems, assess solutions and recommend path forward to improve the attraction of a qualified and diverse workforce to the State of MN.
