SAINT PAUL, MN (June 5, 2026) — Jenel Farrell, an IT Program Manager at MNIT, has been named a recipient of the 2026 State Leadership of the Year award through the StateScoop 50 Awards.

Jenel’s leadership has helped advance statewide technology initiatives that strengthen how Minnesota delivers secure, reliable, and people-centered digital services. Drawing on her expertise as a Certified ScrumMaster and Project Management Professional, she played a key role in supporting the technology delivery of Minnesota’s Paid Leave program—one of the state’s largest recent digital service initiatives—while strengthening program execution, improving collaboration across agencies, and helping ensure enterprise technology investments deliver meaningful outcomes for Minnesotans.

Known for her focus on operational excellence and modernization, Jenel brings a collaborative approach to complex initiatives that support the systems and services residents rely on every day. Her recognition reflects both her commitment to public service and the important role technology leadership plays in delivering effective government services.

“Jenel’s leadership, dedication, and ability to bring people together around shared goals have made a meaningful impact across state government,” said Commissioner Jon Eichten. “This recognition reflects her commitment to improving how government works for Minnesotans through strong partnerships serving multiple agencies, thoughtful leadership, and a focus on results.”
