Admin Surplus Services assists state organizations in the redistribution of surplus public assets in a responsible fashion for the fiscal and environmental benefit of Minnesota. Admin guides the reuse of both federal and state surplus property by state agencies, political subdivisions and eligible donees.
Methods of reuse and disposal include:
Admin acquires and distributes many types of items, including office supplies and furniture, medical supplies and equipment, clothing, a wide range of vehicles, machine tools, hardware and electrical supplies and more. These items are made available to eligible organizations for a nominal service charge, helping customers realize incredible savings. Admin also operates the state auction program, conducting live and online auctions which serve the public and return revenue to state government. Approximately 92 percent of auction proceeds are returned to owner agencies.

Admin assists Minnesota state agencies in the transfer, donation, and other environmentally-responsible disposal of assets and other personal property no longer needed for state use, using a variety of methods.
Admin administers the Federal Surplus Property Program in Minnesota. Government agencies and other eligible organizations may be able to acquire federal property for official use.
Admin sells surplus property through public live and online auctions held throughout the year.
A common forum for state agencies to reuse surplus state property. View items available from other state agencies and submit items for posting on the exchange.
Eligibility to obtain some surplus property is limited to public agencies, certain non-profit organizations and small businesses, and others.
