State Capitol

The State Capitol building is open to the public Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  Saturday hours are 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.  The building is closed on Sundays.

How to Get Here

• There are three (3) Light Rail stations located in the Capitol Complex including the Rice Street Station, just west of the State Capitol Building.
  
• There are many parking facilities on the complex that include pay stations for visitor parking.
  
• Long term parking contracts are also available.
  

Access Information

The loading dock for the Capitol Building is at the Minnesota Senate Building, 95 University Ave. W., St. Paul, MN 55155.  Loading dock is on the north side of building on Sherburne Avenue. Loading dock can accommodate straight trucks only; no semi-tractor trailers

Conference Rooms

State Capitol conference rooms are scheduled through Capitol Complex Reservations.  All rooms in the State Capitol building, except for G20A, are subject to bumping during the legislative session. 

Public Use of the State Capitol Building and Grounds

The building and grounds are available for use by the public to hold various gatherings, speeches, ceremonies, meetings and other related uses. The event applicant must agree to and accept responsibility for managing the requirements and Rules of Conduct for Users of Public Space in State Buildings and on Capitol Complex by their event vendors, attendees, and volunteers. Cafeteria

The Rathskeller (Capitol) Cafe is open during legislative session only.
Hours:    Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
                Friday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

The Transportation Cafe is open on a trial basis depending on volume of customer patronage.
Hours:    Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM
                Friday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

All other cafeterias on the Capitol Complex remain closed.

Catering service is available from Taher Capitol Complex Dining Services at 651-224-3004.
