The Minnesota Legislature changed state law last session to require insurance information for vehicle registration. This change went into effect January 1, 2016.
So watch for vehicle registration renewal forms and other vehicle-related forms from the MN Department of Public Safety's Driver & Vehicle Services (DVS) and be prepared to enter the auto insurance information.
Here is What You Do!Since state vehicles are insured through the Risk Management Division's Self-Insurance Program, DVS would like state agencies to enter specific information.
For example, in the lower right-hand of the form are three blocks for insurance company name, policy number, and expiration date. Please use the following:
