MnSAFE stands for Safety Accountability From Everyone and is the statewide workplace safety initiative for employees of the state of Minnesota. 

Beginning in 2011, all state employees were challenged to reduce the rate of workplace injuries. In order to be successful we must truly embrace a safety culture in all of our workplaces.

In FY2012, our mission was to reduce injuries by 25 percent over three years. By establishing annual goals, tracking progress quarterly, and supporting safe workplaces, we achieved a 23 percent reduction.

We have renewed our commitment with a goal of reducing injuries by five percent annually over the next four years.

In FY2011, over 1,900 workplace injuries occurred in the state workforce annually. In FY2016 the number was less than 1400 injuries per year!

We owe it to our colleagues, their families and friends, and citizens of Minnesota to prevent workplace injuries. To do that, we can start by understanding the Issue.
