One-day webinar aims to position Black Owned Businesses for Success in Government Contracting

SAINT PAUL – The Department of Administration’s Office of Equity in Procurement (OEP) and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) are offering a one-day webinar event in celebration of Black History Month positioning Black owned businesses for success in Government Contracting.
This free event, “Positioning Black Owned Businesses for Success in Government Contracting,” will take place on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Topics throughout the day include an overview of the state’s contracting with Black owned businesses, a presentation on doing business with the state, and a live demonstration of technology used by the state for registering as a potential provider of goods and/or services, locating and responding to opportunities, and applying for certification in the state’s Small Business Procurement Program.
Resources offered by numerous community partners will be highlighted, including: the Activate Network; Black Women’s Wealth Alliance; Fearless Commerce; MEDA; Minnesota Minority Goods & Services Association; NEON; North Central Minority Supplier Development Council; the Small Business Development Center; Tim Connelly Law PLLC; and the Veterans Business Outreach Center.
After the event, staff from the OEP and PTAC teams, as well as from some of our invited resource partners, will be available to answer questions and provide additional information on our programs.
