Minnesota's State Archaeologist is a key leader within state government and the state's archaeological community. The mission of the State Archaeologist is to promote archaeological research, share archaeological knowledge, and protect archaeological resources for the benefit of all the people of Minnesota. The archaeologist works closely with the Commissioner of Administration and other senior leaders to tackle a variety of issues and make strategic decisions that have agency and statewide impact.
