Filice named to State Designer Selection Board

7/29/2015 10:14:43 AM

SAINT PAUL - Commissioner of Administration Matt Massman has appointed Amy Filice of Saint Paul to the State Designer Selection Board as a public member representative.

Filice is currently a Program Administrator with the City of Saint Paul and has worked in the Department of Planning and Economic Development since 1990. Filice studied architecture at the University of California, Berkeley and at Cooper Union, where she received her architecture degree. She has five years of experience at architectural firms prior to her employment with the City of Saint Paul.

The seven-member State Designer Selection Board uses a qualifications-based selection process to select primary designers for proposed state agency construction and planning projects. This applies to construction projects estimated to cost greater than $2 million, or planning projects with estimated fees greater than $200,000. The board also recommends two finalist primary designers to the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for construction, remodeling, and planning projects at the same cost levels.
