Create an Open Header

Create an Open Header

If you've requested to have access to an Open Header, the component will be created for you in the following folder:
020 [Your Website] Content > Building Blocks > Website Content > Site Layout > Header

Fill out the following fields to make an Open Header component:

1. Name: enter a name for your component here.
   
2. Schema: select Open Header  
   
3. Header HTML: enter the code for your header. Please validate the code before entering it.
4. If this is a subsite...: if this is not a subsite, you can leave this field blank. If this is a subsite, please enter the path as described: /site/subsite/ (For example: /deed/ssb/ )
5. Header Alert Banner: if your site has a Header Alert Banner, link to it here. Click the browser folder icon , navigate to the Header Alert Banner component, and select it. 

Publish the header

When you've completed all the steps above, then all you need to do next is publish your header. 

To publish your header, navigate to 050 [Your Website] Website > Building Blocks > Website Content > Site Layout > Header 

In that folder is a component named Open Header. Right-click on that component and select Publishing > Publish:

Select the site you wish to publish to and click Publish. This will send the header to the publishing queue.

Verify the header looks like you want it to, and edit/republish as needed.
